Through colorful Solfège materials, songs, movement, and hands-on exploration with instruments like color-coded bells, children begin to discover rhythm, pitch, and the joy of making music together. Class sizes are kept small so every child can participate actively and feel seen. While there are no homework assignments or instruments required, students leave each semester with sharper ears, a growing love for music, and a natural readiness for their next musical adventure. This class is led by two professional musicians. |
Petit SolfègeAges 5 to 7 Drop-off Class Up to 5 students Students must be 5 by September 1st, 2026 3:30-4:15pm Class days are still to be decided (TBD) 8-week program *** Ready for the next step? Just as children learn to read and write words, Petit Solfège teaches children to sing, listen, read, and write music — fluently and joyfully. Designed for children aged 5 to 7, Petit Solfège builds on the musical foundation of MUSICOCOTTE — but with a little more structure and a lot more fun! Students sit at tables, explore solfège through music games, and take home a small weekly assignment to keep the learning going between classes. It's the perfect blend of playful and purposeful. Petit Solfège works beautifully as a supplement to our beginner piano or guitar lessons — and it's equally welcoming for children with no prior musical experience who are just beginning to explore. No piano or keyboard at home? No problem. Having one can be helpful for singing practice, but it's not required. This class is led by one dedicated teacher in an intimate classroom setting. |
