FAQ
1. Is there any opportunity that each child has a private lesson during the summer camp?
Absolutely, our emphasis is on an intimate camp setting where every child can experience and discover music. Recognizing that each child is distinct with their own passions, we will offer a minimum of one private lesson lasting 20 to 30 minutes each week.
2. What is the teacher-to-student ratio? How many kids are expected to enroll in the program? What is the age range of students in each class?
Since our studio is small, we will limit the maximum number of students to 6 at a time. It depends on the age groups and the number of children participating; however, we will divide them into two groups: 4-5 years old and 6-7 years old. We will maintain a ratio of at least 3:1.
3. Are lunch and/or snacks included?
No. We kindly ask each student to bring their own lunch and snacks.
4. How do kids engage in songwriting if they don't yet know how to write?
We will start with the fill-in-the-blank activity. First, we are going to ask students to choose a theme for a song. We may provide a short and simple sentence, left without a word, and encourage them to pick a word that fits the theme and the sentence. We are going to learn the ukulele and basic chords in the afternoon before lunch. We use the chords that they learn during the songwriting class. We encourage them to create a short melody and lyrics to go with the chord. We continuously work on developing the song.
5. Will there be group performances at the end of each week or camp?
Yes, we will. Hopefully, we can showcase a song created by children in our songwriting class or a song from our choir class, along with mini solo performances on piano, ukulele, or voice!

She brought her own lyrics from home and then created a song with us during our songwriting time. What a beautiful song, L!

Our camper from last year, who was 4 years old, didn't know how to write. Therefore, we used fill-in-the-blank for songwriting. A teacher asked her what word she wanted to fill in, and it turned out to be so pure and beautiful.
